Met today to raise £100 for Barnabas Aid. A good crowd arrived to spend the morning chatting and discussing events and interests. Xavier was part of the team today contributing towards his Scouting badge. Here is what you missed. A good crowd this morning with some new welcome faces from Weymouth. Judy was brought up in Shustoke and she and Ray have returned to the vicinity they love. We hope to see them again.
There were lots of great raffle prizes to be won and luscious cakes thanks to Anne, Jacky and Jane. The sum of £120 was raised for our Methodist Church funds . Our next fund raising event for the Chapel is a fish and chip supper with Quiz, on Saturday March 9th. Tickets are £11.50 each from Jill. Quite a relatively quiet affair with perhaps many still away or back at work of course. However we still raised £90 to support Alzheimers who are working towards a world where dementia not longer devastates lives. Cakes and a raffle were still enjoyed and at least the weather seemed drier and more pleasant today than the wet downpours of late.
A good crowd attended this morning raising £121 for the Salvation Army. Our hosts Evelyn, Pauline and Phil and there were lots of raffle prizes and homemade cake and biscuits to enjoy.
Coffee morning today for Greenfingers, £110 was made. A few more there than the last couple of months. Lovely refreshments including Fiona’s famous meringues. Fiona decorated the tables for Remembrance, with red poppies she had crocheted. They looked great and were sold afterwards contributing further to the total of £121.
The new chapel chairs look very smart. Not a bad turnout for today’s coffee morning, although we can always accommodate more people. We managed to raise £93 for Arthritis UK. Everyone enjoyed Elizabeth’s homemade scones with jam and cream. Thanks to Lewis for his help with the washing up.
Not so many people at the coffee morning today but still £97 was raised for the Chapel. The leftover cakes were sold and The total was further boosted by donations for the books that were sold over the recent Open Gardens weekend. Many thanks to all for the cakes and prizes donated by Sue, Chris and Val.
We met today on a nice dry warm summer day to support global care. A good number of people attended with talk of Guernsey holidays, ferry crossings and tractor rebuild news being among some of the topics discussed! A total of £123 was raised including the raffle and with thanks to Evelyn, Pauline and Phil for their support in serving the tea and coffee.
Not too many here today, but lovely cakes made by Anne and Jayne. Cynthia and Lewis both have birthdays in July and were sung to in preparation for the event. Lewis also helped to wash up with the aid of his Aunty Julie, so grateful thanks to them both for their help. Around 22 people attended and £91 raised for the MHA.
Half term and we met to raise £87 for the Church Homeless Trust. A quieter morning due to many being away but still people came to have a chat and converse.
